Nepean Storage
Nepean was once a local municipality next to Ottawa, until it became one of the 11 towns that merged with the city of Ottawa in 2001. Nepean runs from Baseline Road south, and extends east of the Rideau River. The area is home to more than 135,000 residents.
Nepean was first established as a Township in 1792. It is named after Sir Evan Nepean who was the British Under Secretary of State for the Home Department. Nepean became incorporated as a city in 1978.
In recent years, Nepean has grown rapidly. The area offers shopping districts that provide extended hours. This offers an excellent alternative to Ottawa, which has restricted shopping hours. Some of the most notable malls in Nepean are Bayshore Mall, Meadowlands and Merivale. Nepean is a large and diverse community, with various unique neighbourhoods that will suit any taste.
Many rural communities in Nepean benefit from the Greenbelt, offering many forms of recreation and green space. Nepean has plenty to offer for golfers, boaters, equestrian riders and tobogganers. There are also two beaches located aside the Ottawa River for residents to enjoy. Hikers, cyclists and cross-country skiers will also find adventure within the Pinhey Forest and Stoney Swamp parks.
