Manotick
Manotick is a picturesque residential community located on the Rideau River, along the outskirts of Ottawa. It was founded in 1859, making it 150 years old this year. In 2001, it became part of the city of Ottawa, merging along with 10 other communities.
Manotick has a rich history, ample amenities and an excellent locations. The name, Manotick comes from the Ojibwa words that mean “island in the river”.

Every year, Manotick celebrates Moss Kent Dickinson, one of its founders, in the first weekend of June. Dickinson was Mayor of Ottawa from 1864 to 1866 and gave the town its name. Dickinson, born in America, settled in Manotick and died there in 1897. The Dickinson Day celebration boasts an old-fashioned parade, a craft market, and continuous entertainment with fun for parents and children alike.
